Our Story
We wait for a living
This studio started in 2014 as one telescope on a suburban patio and a stubborn belief that the sky rewards patience more than equipment. The equipment got better anyway. The belief didn’t change.
In 2019 we moved the whole operation to the Atacama Desert, where the atmosphere finally stopped arguing with us. Three hundred and twenty clear nights a year changes what you can promise a client: not luck, but time on target, night after night, until the image is done.
Paragraph 3: Today we photograph nebulae that take four hundred hours to reveal themselves, time occultations to a fraction of a second, and make prints we’d hang in our own homes. The tools are precise. The reason is not: we just never got tired of looking up.
How we got there
Twelve years, four turning points.
2014
Chapter 01
First light
One secondhand refractor, a patio, and a first blurry image of Orion we were far too proud of.
2019
Chapter 02
The move south
We relocated to the Atacama at 2,900 metres, trading city glow for the darkest sky either of us had seen.
2023
Chapter 03
The big telescope
First light on our 610mm CDK. Targets we’d chased for years suddenly sat still.
2026
Chapter 04
Opening the doors
Our first guided workshops welcome visitors to the observatory this September.

The People
Who you’ll work with

Founder & lead imager
Sofia Andrade
Plans every capture window and has personally logged more hours at the eyepiece than the rest of the studio combined.

Processing specialist
Daniel Kessler
Turns hundreds of raw frames into one honest image. Believes calibration is a moral position.

Workshop & retreat lead
Camila Rojas
Runs the observatory visits and the September retreats. The one who remembers to bring coffee at 3 a.m.

Three months of updates, one preview after every clear night, and then a print that made my partner ask why we’d ever bought other art. Worth every week of the wait.
